Ingredients

  • 1 can of crab claw meat
  • 1 tablespoon diced jalapeno peppers
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon diced smoked chipotle peppers
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Start by draining the can of crab claw meat thoroughly and gently picking through it to remove any bits of shell or cartilage. Place the cleaned crab meat in a mixing bowl.
  • Add the diced jalapeno peppers, diced bell pepper, diced smoked chipotle peppers, and shredded mild cheddar cheese to the crab meat. These ingredients will give your crab cakes a bold and spicy flavor profile, perfect for those who enjoy a little heat.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then fold them into the crab mixture. This will help bind the ingredients together and create a cohesive mixture.
  • Gradually incorporate the panko bread crumbs, flour, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper into the mixture. The panko bread crumbs will give the crab cakes a satisfying crunch, while the smoked paprika adds a smoky depth of flavor.
  • Once all the ingredients are well combined, form the mixture into small, round patties, approximately 2-3 inches in diameter.
  • Heat a skillet with some oil over medium-high heat. Carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet and cook until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, which should take about 4-5 minutes per side.
  • Serve an enjoy this spicy dinner delight.
