Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound dry black beans, soaked overnight and rinsed
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 3 bay leaves
  • water for cooking

Instructions
 

  • Add the soaked and rinsed black beans to a slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Toss in the bay leaves.
  • Cover with water, filling until the beans are submerged with about 2 inches of water above them.
  • Set the slow cooker to its lowest setting. Cook on low all night if planning to serve at lunchtime or all day if needed for dinner.
  • Before serving, remove the bay leaves. Give the beans a quick stir, then taste and adjust seasonings if desired.
