Equipment

  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk powder or buttermilk
  • 1 stick of real softened butter
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, buttermilk powder, baking powder, salt, minced garlic, and dried herbs, until well combined.
  • Add the grated cheddar cheese to the bowl and mix it into the dry ingredients until evenly distributed.
  • Pour in the milk and stir gently until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Scoop approximately 1/4 cup of dough per biscuit onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of each biscuit.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and puffed up.
  • Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For the extra garlic butter to brush on when they come out of the oven, melt 1/2 stick real butter, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning together and brush on the biscuits.
