Tuscan Kiss Tuna Steaks Recipe: Italian-Inspired and Irresistible

Sometimes, all it takes is one dish to completely change how you think about an ingredient. For me, that dish is Tuscan Kiss Tuna Steaks. It’s bold yet comforting, sophisticated but totally approachable—a real standout kind of meal.

When I say this recipe delivers layers of flavor, I mean it. The tuna steaks are tender and flaky, but the magic is in the sauce. Fresh tomato puree takes center stage here, infused with fragrant Italian herbs, smoky paprika, and just the right amount of garlic. And then there’s the wild card—a splash of Coca-Cola, bringing a subtle sweetness that doesn’t overpower but lingers just enough to leave you wondering, What’s that little extra something?

The finishing touch? A sprinkling of shredded smoked Gouda that melts into the sauce like it was meant to be there all along. It’s the kind of touch that feels luxurious without being over-the-top.

What I love most about Tuscan Kiss Tuna Steaks is how effortlessly it comes together. You don’t need fancy tools or endless prep time—just a few fresh ingredients and a skillet. The flavors are hearty enough to stand on their own, but if you’re looking to round out the meal, I’d suggest serving it with a side of creamy risotto, buttery mashed potatoes, or some roasted garlic asparagus.

This recipe is a love letter to bold flavors, the kind of meal that feels like a warm embrace on a cool evening. It’s not just food—it’s an experience, and it’s one I hope you’ll fall for just as hard as I did.

So, the next time you want to serve up something that feels a little special, give Tuscan Kiss Tuna Steaks a try. It’s one of those dishes that’s sure to leave its mark—just like a kiss should.

Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or pan

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 large tuna steak filets
  • 1 cup Coca-Cola
  • 20 oz fresh tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp Italian herbs
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp Badia Complete seasoning
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Small handful of shredded smoked Gouda cheese (for topping each steak)

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
  • Season the tuna steaks lightly with salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp of Badia Complete seasoning. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the Coca-Cola to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for 1 minute.
  • Stir in the tomato puree, Italian herbs, smoked paprika, onion powder, the remaining Badia Complete seasoning, black pepper, and salt. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  • Return the tuna steaks to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them to fully coat. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steaks and your preferred level of doneness.
  • Once the steaks are cooked to your liking, sprinkle each one with a small handful of shredded smoked Gouda cheese. Cover the skillet again for 1-2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
  • Serve the tuna steaks hot, topped with extra sauce from the skillet. Pair with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, risotto, or roasted vegetables.
