Let me pull up a stool at the kitchen counter and spill my thoughts about something new I’ve decided to try, learning meditation.

It’s something I’ve never even imagined myself doing, but life has a funny way of nudging us toward unexpected paths. I’m talking about learning meditation.

That’s right, Stacy, a meditation newbie!

Now, let me set the stage. I’ve never knowingly been around a meditator, and the word itself used to conjure up images of incense, chanting, and cross-legged gurus.

But lately, it seems like every other thing I’ve stumbled across in my Google searches has been pointing me toward this ancient meditation practice. They say when the universe wants to get your attention, it’ll keep throwing signs in your face until you finally listen.

Well, universe, I hear you loud and clear buddy!

Here’s why this has become so important to me. Recently, I’ve been handed an unending list of health issues. The kind of news that makes you sit up straight and go, “Oh no, we’re not doing this.”

Meditation kept popping up as a way to calm the mind, lower stress, and even improve my physical health. And let’s be honest, who couldn’t use a little more calm and clarity in these crazy days?

The more I read, the more I realized that meditation isn’t some mystical, unattainable thing. It’s actually pretty simple and straightforward, which is right up my Southern little alley.

So, this week I’m taking the plunge and starting my learning meditation journey.

Overcoming Life’s Challenges by Learning Meditation

I’m going to give myself permission to just show up and learn it as I go. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a ancient old meditation practice.

I’m already feeling fired up about this because I refuse to let my health challenges define Stacy. I’ve always been a strong, fierce, and independent woman, and I plan to keep it that way for good. Learning meditation feels like a way to reconnect with myself and my inner strength. It’s a little piece of “me time” that has the potential to make a big difference.

I’ll be keeping ya updated on this journey, sharing the ups and downs and what I am learning along the way. Who knows, maybe I’ll inspire some of you to give it a try it, too.
