Equipment

  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Stand or Hand Mixer
  • 1 Large Baking Sheet or Mat
  • 1 Mixing Spoon
  • 1 Biscuit Cutter
  • 1 Pastry Brush

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 cup hardened butter, diced up
  • 1/2 cup granulated honey powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • extra honey and melted butter for drizzle

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cream of tartar. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Add the diced butter to the dry mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to cut the butter into pea-sized pieces. This will create a flaky texture in your biscuits.
  • Pour in the milk and gently stir until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix; a slightly lumpy dough is just what we're looking for.
  • Sprinkle granulated honey powder over the dough and fold it in gently until it is evenly distributed throughout.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently for a minute or two until it becomes smooth.
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 2 inches thick, then use a biscuit cutter to cut out individual biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  • Once they come out of the oven, brush them each with the honey butter blend and serve.
