It’s a delightful fusion of Southern charm and irresistible sweetness that will have your kitchen brimming with warmth and nostalgia.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Method:

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and set it aside.

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Stir until well combined.

  3. Blend Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs lightly. Add in the vanilla extract and milk, and whisk until fully incorporated.

  4. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine.

  5. Fold in Pecans: Gently fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Cool and Serve: Once baked, allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve either warm or at room temperature.
