The Worst Paranormal Encounter: Possession at 17

After years of haunting experiences, I thought I had seen it all. But nothing prepared me for what happened when I was 17. By this time, the paranormal activity at 901 Sandy Shore Dr. in Bryan, Texas, had already worn me down, but it escalated to a level I never expected. It became so intense that I eventually moved out of that haunted house for good.

The Calm Before the Storm

At 17, I met a guy named Kermit, and we started dating. He would come over on weekends to hang out, and having him there made me feel a bit safer. Even though the eerie happenings continued, it was easier to deal with when I wasn’t alone. My sister, Misty, and I felt more at ease with him around, but we should have known that whatever was in that house wasn’t going to be intimidated by just another person.

One night, my parents went to bed early, leaving me, Misty, and Kermit in the living room, watching movies and talking. As usual, my little brother, D.J., was in his room, supposed to be asleep, but it wasn’t long before things took a turn.

The Creepy Voice Calls Again

Just like before, it started with that unsettling voice calling for D.J. That voice was unlike anything human—deep, scratchy, and downright terrifying. It would draw out our names like, “Staaaaaacy” or “DDDDDJJJJJJJ,” and the sound alone would send chills down my spine. This time, Kermit heard it too. He looked at me with wide eyes and whispered that it sounded demonic. Whatever was in that house, it didn’t mean us any good.

D.J. started crying, too scared to move or even speak. I told him to ignore it, hoping it would stop if he didn’t react, but I was wrong. I could feel the fear building in the room, and Kermit, Misty, and I sat frozen, unsure of what to do next.

The Unexplainable Possession

In a moment of pure desperation, I went to the kitchen and grabbed a large butcher knife. I didn’t know what good it would do against something we couldn’t see, but I needed to feel some sort of control. I slid the knife under the couch cushion and sat between Misty and Kermit, my heart racing.

Then it happened.

I felt a sudden, forceful impact on my left side, like something unseen had slammed into me. Instantly, my entire body stiffened. I was paralyzed—unable to move, unable to scream, completely trapped in my own body. I could feel something inside me, something dark and powerful, and it terrified me more than anything I’d ever experienced.

For what felt like an eternity, the entity was inside me, holding me in its grip. Then, just as suddenly, it left. It shot out of my right side, leaving me shaken and breathless. I sat there in shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened.

Leaving the Haunted House

That night was the final straw. The entity had done more than just scare me—it had entered my body, and I couldn’t stay in that house any longer. I packed my things and moved in with Kermit, who I eventually married after I turned 18.

Looking back, I can’t fully explain what happened to me that night. The possession, the paralysis—it’s something that stays with me to this day. But one thing is for sure: I knew that house was haunted, and leaving it was the only way to escape whatever dark force had taken hold of my life.

If you’ve ever experienced something like this, or even if you haven’t, it’s hard to grasp the true terror of living in a house plagued by an evil entity. For years, it tormented me, but the night it entered my body was the moment I knew I had to leave 901 Sandy Shore Dr. behind forever.

Stay tuned for more real-life ghost stories and haunted experiences. I have many more encounters to share that shaped my life and my understanding of the paranormal.
